Why Do You Need Specific Privacy Policy and Terms of Service?

During Toll-Free Verification, carriers not only check if your website has an Opt-in process but also deeply review your legal texts. If your Privacy Policy or Terms of Service (ToS) lacks specific compliance statements, your verification application will be rejected.

To help you pass the review quickly, we have prepared the following standard templates. You can adjust them according to your business needs, but you must retain the core compliance clauses.

Note: Links to these legal texts must be clearly visible and clickable on your Opt-In page. Broken links or links pointing to wrong pages will result in verification rejection.

Mandatory Clauses for Privacy Policy

In your Privacy Policy, under the section regarding "SMS Communications" or "Data Collection", you must include the following statement (bilingual):

Chinese:

“我们不会将您的手机号码或短信订阅信息出售、出租或分享给第三方,以供其用于自身的营销目的。”

English (Required by Carriers):

"We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties for their own marketing purposes."

Tip: Place this statement near the paragraphs about "User Consent" or "Marketing Communications" in your Privacy Policy, and ensure there is a link to this Privacy Policy next to the Opt-in checkbox.

Mandatory Content for Terms of Service (ToS)

Your Terms of Service page must be an embedded page (not a popup) and contain the following information:

  • Business Identity: Clearly state the name of the company sending the messages.
  • Product Description: Briefly describe what kind of messages you will send (e.g., order notifications, promotional offers).
  • Message Frequency: State the approximate frequency of messages (e.g., "Message frequency varies" or "Up to 4 messages per month").
  • Rate Disclaimer: Must include "Message and data rates may apply".
  • Support Contact: Provide a valid customer service email or phone number.
  • Opt-Out Instructions: Clearly inform users that they can unsubscribe by replying "STOP".

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Which sentence must be included in the Privacy Policy? +

You must include this exact English sentence: "We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties for their own marketing purposes." This is a mandatory carrier requirement and cannot be omitted.

Q2: Does the Terms of Service need to be notarized? +

No, notarization is not required. However, it must be a real, valid, and publicly accessible webpage. Carrier reviewers will actually click the link to verify the content; fake or inaccessible pages will result in verification rejection.

 Q3: Can I use a generic Privacy Policy? +

You can use a generic template as a base, but you must add the exclusive clause regarding SMS Opt-in data mentioned above. If the generic Privacy Policy does not mention that SMS data will not be shared with third parties, the verification will not pass.
