Quick Start: Send Your First Text

Sending a text message with Textr Team takes three steps:

  1. Open the Messages tab in the app or web dashboard
  2. Click Create to start a new conversation
  3. Enter the recipient's phone number (or select a contact), type your message, and hit Send

You can send texts from both the mobile app and the web dashboard. Messages sync across all your devices in real time.

SMS vs. MMS: Which Should You Use?

If you're sending plain text notifications, SMS is the most cost-effective option. If you need to share product images, promotional materials, or any visual content, use MMS. For a detailed comparison including carrier-specific limitations, see our SMS vs. MMS guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

 1. Where can I check message history? + 

Go to Messages in the app or web dashboard to view all sent and received conversations. You can filter by team member, date, or media type, and search by keyword or phone number. For detailed instructions, see our message history guide.

 2. Is there a character limit? + 

SMS supports 160 characters per segment for standard text, or 70 characters per segment when using Unicode characters (emoji, special characters). Longer messages are split into multiple segments and billed accordingly. For MMS, keep images under 1MB for best delivery rates.

 3. Can I send group messages? + 

Group messaging is not currently supported. You can send the same message to multiple recipients individually, or use SMS Campaigns for bulk messaging (requires TCR registration). See our SMS Campaign guide for details.
